I hadn’t expected this; a comparison between a camera focused phone, and a music focused one. But people wanted it. And looking at it now, it is well something that makes sense. I mean, both the Camon C9 and the Boom J8 have 13MP rear cameras, don’t they?

Tecno Camon C9 is the latest smartphone on the Tecno C series released to the mobile market which has been trending as the topic of discussion on Kenyan, Ghanaian, and Nigerian social media outlets, tech blogs and forums lest we forget rumours on the upcoming Tecno Camon C10.

Tecno Boom J8 was released last year(2016) as a successor to Tecno Boom J7 with more RAM, better processor, cameras, display size and technology. Tecno J8 is a good to go for Android device if you are short on budget for the Techno Camon C9. It is available on virtually all known stores in Kenya, Ghana and Nigeria.

The Tecno Boom J8 and the Tecno Camon C9 are no doubt the best smartphones from the Chinese phone maker so far. There are many similarities between these two phones. If you are torn between the Tecno J8 and the Tecno C9 , this piece will help you choose the one that fits your needs and lifestyle.

Specs Comparison: Apple iPhone X vs. Samsung’s Finest

Now that all of Apple’s new iPhone X details are confirmed, it seemed like the perfect time for the ol’ iPhone X vs. Galaxy S8 battle, aka Apple vs. Samsung’s finest. Well, to be clear, we also included the Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy Note 8 as well, since those round out Samsung’s entire current portfolio, one that Apple is certainly playing catch-up to at this point, even as they have dubbed the iPhone X the smartphone of the “future.”

In terms of just straight up specs battle, you can see that the overall basics are pretty much the same from phone to phone. We don’t yet know the battery capacity for the iPhone X, but we know about its dual 12MP camera setup with dual OIS (just like the Galaxy Note 8), its 5.8-inch OLED display with an edge-to-edge feel, IP67 water and dust resistance (below the IP68 of Samsung’s phones), storage options (64GB or 256GB), and newly minted wireless charging (Samsung’s phones have fast wireless and wired charging). All phones also have premium metal and glass bodies.

On paper, it would be hard to argue that the iPhone X tops Samsung’s phones. I’d imagine that the A11 Bionic processor will wipe the floor in benchmarks with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835, because chipsets from Apple always do. We also know that the dual camera setup should be quite good, though each year it’s a struggle for most to decide which is better at smartphone cameras, Apple or Samsung? But you also have to remember that the iPhone X doesn’t have a fingerprint reader or headphone jack, it still uses a proprietary Lightning port, and it costs a whopping $999 just to start.

Check it out.

The smartphone market is one of the most rapidly changing one, with new and exciting models coming out each and every month. Infinix and Tecno are two of the quickly growing smartphone brands with plenty to offer to the African market.

This year, everyone was looking forward to the release of two new smartphone models, the Infinix Note 4 and the Tecno Camon CX. Now that both phones have hit the market, let’s see the ultimate battle:

Round 1; Body and display

Tecno Camon CX, or Camon C10, is undeniably a visually stunning phone. For this model, Tecno made the switch from the 5.5-inch display in favor of a 6-inch curved one. The fully metal body comes in 5 attractive colors, including rose gold and black, and is highly durable compared to plastic phones.

Infinix-Note-4l Infinix Note 4 vs Tecno Camon CX;Which phone should you buy?

Infinix Note 4 specs reveal that Infinix has downsized the screen of the new model, which resulted in a 5.7-inch curved display. The Note 4 also makes a great visual impression, in part thanks to its glossy metal body that is available in three colors, with Champagne Gold being the most beautiful one.

Personally I loved the design on the camon CX by the way it feels in hands.

WINNER:TECNO CAMON CX

Round 2; Performance and software

Perhaps, the most important thing in reviewing any of the latest smartphones is by what powers the  phone.

If you look at Tecno Camon CX specifications, you will see that this phone runs on  MediaTek MT6750T chipset and Octa-core 1.5GHz CPU with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage.

Infinix Note 4 full specification is in many ways similar to that of the Tecno Camon CX – it has a MediaTek Helio 10 chipset and Octa-core 1.3GHz CPU. However, the memory is where the Note 4 surpasses its closest competitors. With 3GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage, the latest Infinix phone clearly wins.

Both devices run the newest version of Android, the Android 7.0 Nougat, and are capable of upgrading by air so you can be rest assured you’ll always have the best version of the OS.

WINNER:INFINIX NOTE 4

Round 3; Camera and battery

camon Infinix Note 4 vs Tecno Camon CX;Which phone should you buy?

It’s a well-known fact that the Tecno Camon series was designed for aspiring mobile photographers, which means that the camera of the Camon CX should stand out. And it’s true – the Tecno Camon CX is equipped with two 16MP cameras with Dual Flash so that you could not only take stunning pictures with the back camera but also state-of-the-art selfies.

The Infinix Note 4 has slightly weaker camera features. There is a 13MP back camera and an 8MP front camera, and only the back camera is equipped with a LED flash. However, the first Note 4 reviews claim that the phone is still capable of producing high-quality photos – just, perhaps, not as brilliant as its competitor.

The battery is an essential component of a modern mobile phone – a decent battery will let you use the device for the whole workday without having to charge it constantly. According to Tecno CX specs, it has a 3200mAh battery with a Fast Charge technology.

The Infinix Note 4 also comes with an Xchange technology but has a much larger battery capacity – 4300mAh.

WINNER:TECNO CAMON CX

Round 4; Price and availability

Now that you’ve made up your mind about which smartphone you prefer, you probably have just one question: how much is Camon CX and Note 4? Both smartphones are now available in Kenya,Nigeria & Ghana, you can freely buy them from most online retailers.

when it comes to the pricing the Infinix Note 4 appears to be much more cheaper both in Nigeria and Kenya.

Comparison;Samsung’s Galaxy S5 Vs Galaxy J5

Aesthetically, the Galaxy S5 Android 5.0 Lollipop with its TouchWiz twist is a sophisticated and modern affair, with bold colours and cleaner fonts, icons and menus. Some may feel that this simplification has dumbed down the Galaxy S5, though. We definitely agree that the phone doesn’t quite feel as ‘classy’ or business-like since it received the Lollipop update.

Samsung has reined in some of Lollipop’s flavour though, such as toning down some of the new ‘cartoony’ menu animations and avoiding the big bright tiles that dominate the dial screen of pure Lollipop devices. These changes may have been a step too far for some of the Galaxy S5’s devout crowd, but the Galaxy S5’s menus are noticeably snappier following from the update.
Notifications and settings receive the most obvious changes. Notifications now appear as white tabs that can be accessed in a drop down menu and cleared if needed.
If you delve into notifications settings you can now activate/deactivate the notifications of apps on an individual basis, which is handy.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 looks very much like a classic Samsung phone. It’s available in Black or White, and has a familiar but attractive rectangular style with rounded corners. It’s very slim for a mid-range phone, measuring under 8mm in thickness, and weighing in at a solid yet not too heavy 146g.
The phone feels good in the hand, and isn’t too big to use single-handedly.
The screen is a very nice size for a mid-range phone.

Measuring 5 inches, it’s large enough to enjoy photos, videos and games, yet not so big that you struggle to slip it into your pocket. It’s a HD display with a pixel density of 294ppi, making it fairly nice and sharp. It’s one of Samsung’s high-quality AMOLED screens, with plenty of brightness and contrast too.
Design-wise, this is exactly what we want from a mid-range phone, and the trade-off between size, screen quality and materials used is just right.

Lets dive into a head to head comparison and see who’s King between this two smartphone Giants….
