Chinese tech giant Huawei has continued its assault of the high-end mobile phone market with the launch of its flagship devices, leveraging on online retailers for sales.

The firm has partnered with e-commerce platforms including Jumia, Kilimall and Masoko to drive pre-order sales of its devices which are running until April 26. Huawei has launched three smartphones in the Kenyan market including the Huawei P30 Pro and the Huawei P30 for the high-end and P30 Lite devices for the mid-range market. The devices will retail at Sh99,999, Sh72,999 and Sh29,999 respectively.

“Since its inception, the Huawei P Series phones have always been geared to drive one message to consumers: A smartphone can be beautifully crafted, lightweight, while simultaneously providing an outstanding photography experience,” said Huawei Kenya vice-president Steven Li.

The devices are also banking on camera performance as the key selling point in a market where users are spoilt for choice when it comes to smartphones.

The launch comes hot on the heels of its Huawei Mate 20 and the Huawei Mate 20 Pro phones launched in January.
